All employees, students, faculty, and non-traditional volunteers will be required to check their temperature at home using a thermometer and validate that they have no fever and no new onset of two or more symptoms consistent with Covid-19 before leaving to come to work. You will be asked to pass through a screening checkpoint upon entry or re-entry to location, and there will be signage posted at building entrances to direct you to the screening checkpoint.
We ask that you complete a two-step screening process each day 1-3 hours ahead of your shift by using
Health App (MyChart) or by telephone. If you do not have a thermometer, you can indicate as such in the screening questionnaire and your temperature will be taken when you arrive.
After you complete the screening process, your status will be available on your Smartphone to show screeners at the door. If you indicate that you have a temperature or onset of two or more symptoms, you will be advised to remain home and to follow your department’s protocol for reporting an absence. If you do not have a Smartphone, screeners will be able to look up your status using your name or Kerberos ID (KID).
For locations not managed by the hospital, such as office buildings, where there may not be screeners at
the entrance, you must perform the daily temperature and symptom check before coming to your work location or you will not be able to enter the hospital site.
