Вы могли читать на афтешоке историю про женщину, которой за неуплату отрубили электричество и она умерла от удушья, поскольку ей был необходим баллон с кислородом, где кислород подавался электрическим насосом. Её семья уже после смерти все равно должна 1400 долларов и компанию ниипёт. Право человека на жизнь в США заканчивается там, где это стоит денег. Языком чесать - сколь угодно, это бесплатно, а вот если нужна помощь в оплате электричества - извини.

Но вот что пишет моя подруга из Нью Джерси - это далеко не единичный случай!!! По закону в таких случаях отрубать электричество нельзя, но его отрубают на регулярной основе. И никакие суды, видимо, при наличии хороших адвокатов ничего поделать не могут (илине хотят)
So PSE&G is the company behind this. There is a law that for "life-sustaining equipment" (ergo oxygen tanks) they CANNOT by law cut off power. however, this information is not made known to many people, nor when you apply for it are they assisting at all.
I helped out a family that I am close with. I won't give full details on them, but I will describe one member, the member we tried to get the "life-sustaining equipment" clause for. He is a non-verbal autistic teenager, who is severely asthmatic. now- he can't use a pump, he NEEDS a nebulizer, but by PSEG views, if you are over 2 but under 65 you know better to actually travel during an asthma attack to a working outlet somewhere else.
This boy can't. They also don't consider insulin, which HAS TO BE REFRIGERATED life-sustaining stating "they can get a cooler"
The company puts a price on life. We demanded the P4 (life-sustaining) forms, they never came... they sent them out 3 times. we still never got them.
We finally "solved" their problem through area churches, but they are still in a rough place. I'm almost considering doing a gofundme for them but I don't want to put their names or story out there. It is insane, It is heartbreaking, and this is an amazing family thats been dealt a rough hand.
